The New York City Tartan Week Mòd

April 13 @ 4:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Free – $30

As part of our 25th year celebrations, New York City Tartan Week is proud to host its first ever Scottish Gaelic Song Competition, The NYCTW Mòd. Singers from across North America and beyond will compete to win this historic debut event, which will take place at The Tailor Public House in Manhattan on Thursday 13 April, 2023. The event is in association with An Comunn Gàidhealach and will be hosted by Mòd Gold Medalist and BBC Alba’s SpeakGaelic presenter, Joy Dunlop.

Each performer will sing one song at the competition. There will be a choice of six prescribed Gaelic songs or you can submit a Gaelic song of your own choice. The winner will be crowned New York City Tartan Week Mòd Champion 2023 and win a prize of $250 sponsored by the New York Caledonian Club, along with an invitation to perform at the NYCC’s Pre-Parade Ceilidh!
