Iona is the only Scottish focused traditional music session that happens regularly in Brooklyn, NY (every Monday night, from 9.00pm til late). Drawing heavily from the pipes and fiddle repertoire of Scotland, Shetland and the Hebrides, Cape Breton Island and Donegal, the Iona Session includes a great variety of traditional and modern tunes. If you’ve ever been to sessions in Scotland, you’ll know there’s a joyful renaissance of traditional music there and Iona has been a link to that amazing Scottish scene in Brooklyn for the last decade.
